The teachers of chair work on a research theme: "Mathematical Models and Information Technologies in the Engineering Tasks Solution ".

The collective of the chair annually conduct the International Conference of Mathematical Modelling (ICMM) (web-site of conference http://mkmm.org.ua/). Conference is founded by Dr. Sci. in Physics and Mathematics, Professor Khomchenko A.N., that in present time works in Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University (Mykolaiv), where he is Chair Head of Applied and Higher Mathematics.

Lytvynenko Olena Ivanivna – Ph.D. in Engineering, Associate Professor of HM Chair and MM.

Chairman of programming committee of ICММ:

Khomchenko Аnatolii Nykyforovych – Dr. Sc in Physics and Mathematics, Professor, Head of Chair of Applied and Higher Mathematics in Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University (Mykolayiv).

At the Chair of Higher Mathematics and Mathematical modelling active work with the gifted students is conducted. Under the direction of teachers of chair students execute scientific and research works which repeatedly secured prize places in ІІ-nd tour of the all-Ukrainian competition among the students of advanced studies.

For the scientific project "Task with paradoxes as a factor of heuristic studies of future engineers" student of 2ТТ group (2014-2015 academic year) Bezerdian S.І. has got the grant of National Deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Spivakovskyi O.V. "Education. Science. Innovations" in size of 10 thousand hrn. in a nomination "the Best student" in 2015 year.

For progresses in scientific and research activities that is executed under the direction of chair teachers, students were awarded by the Rector and deans of departments in KNTU, they are:

• grant President of Ukraine for Lukashova А.М., Seluyanova Т.А.
  
  The same students are the winners of regional tour of competition "Student of the Year":in 2014 in a nomination "the Best Student-Scientist" Bezerdian S.І., Lukashova А.М.;
• in 2015 in a nomination "the Best Student-Analyst" Bezerdian S.І.;
• in 2015 in a nomination "the Best Student-Scientist" Seluyanova Т.А..
