Tuition of specialist by specialty of 7.050206 “Management of Foreign Economic Activity” of International Economic Relations faculty of Kherson National Technical University has started in 1997.

The graduate department of international economics was founded in September 2001. Tuition of students is executed according to educational and qualification levels of bachelor, specialist and master. The department of international economics had its first graduates in 2002. In 2006 there were 20 graduates. The first graduation class of masters was in 2009, and there were 25 students.

The high level of theoretic and professional training of specialization graduates is provided by the highly qualified academic staff. In its scientific and instructional work the department constantly cooperates with other educational institutions, namely it enters in cooperation with foreign higher educational establishments of international economy: The Monterey Institute of International Studies (California, USA), The University of Wales (Bangor, UK), the Riverland College (Austin, Minnesota, USA). We have entered in cooperation with Polish higher educational establishments. The department also liaises with many scientific organizations of CIS countries. The department works closely with Foreign Trade Academy (Kiev). One of the main areas of educational process is the combination of different systems in continuous tuition of students that gives a complete education in the sphere of international economic activity management: involving basic disciplines at the first year and more special training at senior courses with individual working enhancement.

Team working with usage of novel computer technologies is implemented in educational process.

A required condition for solving the problems given to the department is the consistent expand of the chair of Foreign Economic Activity physical facilities.

The physical facilities include:

• An IT room with 26 workplaces;
• A digital library with Internet access;
• 2 conference halls with power-point, DVD, Internet access.

Fomishyna Vira Mykolaiivna

The Head of the Chair of Foreign Economic Activity

Fomishyna V.M. has been working at the university since 2008. From 1986 to 1989 she had postgraduate study at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev. In 1990 she defended her thesis. In 2012 she defended her thesis for doctor’s degree in economic sciences in front of the Specialized Academic Council of the Lviv Commercial Academy. From 1993 to 2001 she was Associate Professor in Economics and Marketing at the Kherson National Technical University, from 2001 to 2008 she was the Professor of Management at the Kherson Economics and Law Institute. From 2008 to 2013 she was the Professor of Economics and Enterprise at the Kherson National Technical University. Today she is the Professor of International Economics acting the head of the department.

She has 155 publications, including 126 scientific and 29 instructional, including 85 publications in professional journals; she is an author of 1 monograph and a co-author of 1 multi-authored monograph, and a co-author of 7 study guides approved by the Ministry of Education and Science.
