The Chair of Management and Marketing is one of the pioneer Chairs of KNTU. History of the Chair begins in 1964. Its founder Sterlin Efim Abramovich was well-known scientist in the textile industry, author of several textbooks on work measurement, organization and planning of the textile. Training of economist engineers in specialty 1714 "Economics and Organization of Industrial Consumer Goods" for distance learning began in 1964 and since 1969 it is full-time.

During the years of leadership (1964-1979), Efim Sterlin formed its future staff structure within the highly skilled industrial workers of the city and the best graduates of the university and created a scientific school.

Since 1979 to 1980 the Chair was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Tonkoshkur S.A. in 1981 by Ph.D., Associate Professor Pshenychnyy V.M., in 1992 by Ph.D., Associate Professor Azovska A.M. Since 1993 the Chair was headed by Mykolaychuk N.S., she rose through the ranks from senior laboratory assistant, associate professor, professor and the head, defended candidate and doctoral dissertations. Since 2005 Professor, Doctor of Economics Savina Galina continues previous achievements.

Over the years the Chair has trained nearly 5,000 professionals in Management and Marketing that work in many cities of Ukraine and CIS countries, occupying senior positions in large enterprises, banks, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Today the Chair has 28 lectures, including 3 professors and 16 associate professors. Traditionally, the staff is replenished by its graduates. Among them PhD, Associate Professor Glynska A.E., Grishaeva Y.G., Savin S., Nabokov R.M.; Candidate of Economic Sciences Voskresenska O.Y.; Senior Lecturer Trukhachova K.V.; Assistants: Zhosan G.V., Zinchenko E.O., Yakovenko O.V.

The department has formed a scientific school. There is also the graduate school. Associate Professors Beryslav A.V., Vlasenko N.A., Dzhereliuk .0., Kokoreva O. V., Shuklina V.V., Frolov N.E. and Ovchinnikov M.O. have defended their thesis and at present they work at the Chair. Associate professors Zaitseva O.I., Korchevska L.O., Shandova N.V, Associate Professor Sofiienko A.V. work successfully on doctorate thesis.

Head of the Chair: Prof., Doctor of Economics Savina Galina

In 1982 Savina Galina graduated from Kherson Industrial Institute (now Kherson National Technical University) on the specialty 1714 - Economics and Organization of Consumer Goods Industry with the qualification of Engineer-Economist.

In 1995 Savina Galina defended thesis for the Degree of Candidate of Economics. In 2000 she was entitled as Assistant Professor of the Chair of Management at Kherson State Technical University. In 2005 Savina Galina defended thesis for the Degree of Doctor of Economics within the specialty 08.06.01 Economics, Organization and Management of the Enterprises.

Since 2010 Savina G.G. is the head of the specialized academic council for defense of theses on the specialty 08.00.04 Economics and Management of Enterprises.

Savina G.G. has an extensive experience in international cooperation. She repeatedly organizes international conferences in cooperation with the University of Wroclaw (Poland), Institute of International Relations (Prague, Czech Republic), Riga Technical University (Latvia) and others.

Savina G.G. is the vice-rector in scientific work. She is the head of KNTU branch of Kherson regional organization of the Union of Economists of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Kherson regional organization of the All-Ukrainian Union of Economists and a member of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian Union of Economists, a member of the EMC (Educational methodological Commission) in Enterprise Management and EMC in the Service Sector.

Savina G.G. was awarded as Outstanding Worker of Education of Ukraine (2000) and she was awarded Petro Mogyla Order (2009).
